It began with a grandmother's cookbook
Our recipe dates back to 1917, when two German brothers — the Lantz brothers — discovered a family fruitcake recipe in their grandmother's cookbook. It took off, and they soon needed a bigger bakery. In 1964 their search brought them to Beatrice, Nebraska, where it's still baked today.
The bakery changed names and owners over the years, but the original recipe never changed — 67% fruit and nuts, with large cherries, pineapple, golden raisins, pecans and walnuts.
